Leaving a gift to ABC in your will is one of the easiest ways to support our mission and make championing New York City’s children a part of your enduring legacy. Bequests made in a will come in many forms - dollar amounts and percentages, cash, stock, securities, or property - the choice is yours. Making a gift in your will or adding one to an existing will can be as simple as having your attorney add the language below:
“I give to Association to Benefit Children, 419 East 86th Street, New York, NY 10028, (the sum of $___ or ___ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate/trust) for its general purposes.”

Stock and IRA Giving
One of the most rewarding ways to donate to ABC is with a gift of stock or other securities. The full value of your gift is tax-deductible provided it has been held for at least one year, and there is no obligation to pay any capital gains tax on the appreciated value. The gift is fully tax deductible as of the date it arrives in ABC’s account.
To make sure we can properly acknowledge your gift for tax purposes, we must receive the information below in advance of the stock transfer. Once you complete the form below, you'll be taken to a confirmation page with ABC’s stock instructions.
Make a tax-free gift from your IRA
Make a difference today and save on your taxes. It’s a win-win that is entirely possible when you make a contribution to ABC from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Donors who are 70 and a half years old or older, can give any amount up to a maximum of $105,000 per year from their IRA without having to pay income taxes on the money. This type of giving is known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) and can significantly lower your tax burden. If you are over 73, you are required to withdraw from your IRA, so a charitable gift is a great way to fulfill this obligation without having to pay taxes on the withdrawal as you would otherwise. Finally, if you take an itemized deduction, you can deduct your charitable gift from your taxable income, and save even more money in the process. Let’s call it a win-win-win!

We recommend donating with plenty of time to avoid any confusion.
In-Kind Gifts
At ABC, we know that kids grow up fast! If you have any clothes, strollers, toys, games, sports equipment, or other items that are in good condition and need a new home, you can come and drop them off at either of our two main sites. We then distribute them to the families who need them most. Please note, we do not take donations of sheets, bedding, or used stuffed animals. We can provide thank you letters for in-kind donations, but we are not able to attribute value to any donated items for tax purposes. If you are interested in donating some items, please fill out the form below.
